Artemis Singers is about more than music.

We sing music written or arranged by women. That is what we do. We work to effect positive change in cultural attitudes toward women and women artists, as well as to increase the visibility of lesbian feminists. In doing that, we explore the roots of who we are as women, as lesbians, as feminists. That in turn often leads us to themes of peace, community building, and social justice. We don’t always get along. Our meetings and rehearsals are sometimes less than harmonious. But whatever else happens, we always come back to the music and to one another.
