Artemis Singers Spring Concert

Power In Harmony

Saturday, May 2, 2026, 7:00 pm
First Congregational Church of Evanston
1455 Hinman Ave, Evanston IL

This Saturday, please join Artemis Singers as we present a concert that celebrates strength through human connection.

Save time at the door by buying your tickets now. We have reduced the general admission ticket price for this concert ($20 vs $25), but the songs and sounds will be full strength!

Power in Harmony explores the idea that true harmony is not the absence of difference, but the intentional blending of diverse voices and perspectives. Dissonance, when heard and recognized, can result in strong resolutions and lead to greater unity within a community.

We’ll be performing works written or arranged by women, including several Chicago-based composers and arrangers. We’ll have pieces about social justice, equal rights, finding common ground, and creating change together. You’ll hear inspiring music that makes us smile each time we rehearse it.

This concert gives you a preview of the set that Artemis will perform when we host the 2026 Sister Singers Network Choral Festival this July. The 3-day festival will include performances by 20 feminist choruses from around the country, culminating in two 400-voice mass choruses on stage.

Order your tickets now for this Saturday, May 2. General admission is $20, children 12 and under get in free, and as always, we offer sliding scale (more if you can, less if you can’t). We will also sell tickets at the door, so just have a twenty-dollar bill in hand (or pay sliding scale). We look forward to welcoming you there!

Logistics

If you’re driving, you can find street parking nearby. Check signs for any restrictions. There are also several parking lots in the area. For public transportation, the venue is a 10-minute walk from the Davis St. Purple Line stop or the UP-N Davis St. Metra stop.

Bring us all of your Dreams

A little over two months away is our next winter concert, Wildest Dreams. As we reflect on our 35 year herstory, we are proud of what Artemis Singers has accomplished and how many lives we have touched. In this next concert we’ll envision where we want to go next — as individuals, as a chorus, and as global citizens.

We’ll perform on Saturday and Sunday, January 23 and 24 at the Ethical Humanist Society in Skokie. Follow this link for more details.

You will be treated to wonderful melodies by Kristina Boerger, Andrea Ramsey, Holly Near, Kay Gardner, Joan Szymko, and more, coupled with inspiring texts from visionaries like Audre Lorde, Emily Dickinson, Ella Baker, Langston Hughes, and Jane Addams.

If you would like to honor a person or organization that inspires you, consider placing an ad in our concert program book. Learn more or reserve your ad here.
