Tickets selling fast for Interwoven winter concert

Saturday January 17, 2026 at 7:00 pm
VanderCook College of Music, 3125 S. Federal St., Chicago, Illinois

Interwoven emphasizes the interconnectedness / intersectionality of all things — nature and humanity — specifically highlighting how marginalized identities intersect with experiences of the natural world. The concert focuses on the beauty and fragility of nature, the existential threat of climate change, and the repression of racial and gender diversity.

Environmental justice is intrinsically linked to social justice. In addition to climate change, the concert explores environmental injustices and liberation for all vs. liberation for some.

The chorus sings to illustrate the ways that the communities we belong to can join together against the challenges to come in our changing world.

The concert is wheelchair accessible and will be ASL interpreted.

Tickets are $25.00 + 2.27 fee, with no charge for children 12 and under. Sliding scale (pay what you can) is also available. Tickets will be sold at the door (unless we sell out). At some point we may also sell a few Standing Room tickets.

Parking Information

If you plan to drive, here’s a map of where you can park free of charge. Signage may say you have to pay a fee, but the evening of our concert you can park free. You can also ride share, car pool, or take the CTA Red Line 35th Sox station (142 W. 35th St, Chicago) or CTA Green line 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station (16 E. 35th St., Chicago). Several bus lines also serve the area. Confirm directions with your favorite online map app.

Interwoven: Threads of Earth and Self emphasizes the interconnectedness and intersectionality of all things -– nature and humanity, specifically highlighting how marginalized identities intersect with experiences of the natural world.

It’s an exploration of how humans interact with each other and the environment. How we as creatures on this planet build and destroy, marvel and soar, yearn and fail, rise and fall, love and lose, and sometimes love again.

We are preparing some beautiful, beautiful pieces for you to hear and savor and ponder. Please join us.

The concert will be ASL interpreted.
